   In 1928, English Baha’i Florence Pinchon, published a book called ‘The Coming of the Glory’ in both London and New York.. This book she wrote after a long pilgrimage stay in Haifa. Shoghi Effendi actively supported its publication indeed its one of a few which he endorsed, in fact the introduction says that it “has been revised by Shoghi Effendi”. He called it “admirable in presentation, exquisite in style’. Its a delightful book. In a section called ‘A Glimpse of the Golden Age’ she writes

   “And our scientific friend, who in these matters was far keener than the rest of us, exclaimed at a kind of invisible network of communication, swift as light, more perfect than radio, that covered the earth from pole to pole, transmitting not only sound, but form and colour”.

   The Coming of the Glory p.121. This book was also serialised in Star of the West. It seems pretty clear that the Guardians ideas were circulating long before he wrote his World Order article.

   Sadly, the web is not entirely free of national restrictions. In China and other countries access is restricted to state approved areas of the web - so I’m not sure that we’ve quite arrived at the fulness of Shoghi Effendi’s vision. But we’re well on the way.
