armed with the power of thy name

The following phrase, quoted from a prayer written by Bahá’u'lláh, has given me a great deal of solace lately, and helped me to rebuild my confidence when it’s been low:

Armed with the power of Thy name nothing can ever hurt me, and with Thy love in my heart all the world’s afflictions can in no wise alarm me.

I’ve been using it as sort of a mantra, using it whenever I feel anxious, stressed out or otherwise tested, or just whenever the need arises. What are your favourite phrases to help you deal with difficult times?

Update: Looking for the recent music video by Devon Gundry based on this quote?

My Favorite one is this :

    O son of Being

My calamity is providence, Outwardly it is fire and vengeance
but inwardly it is light and mercy , hasten there unto that thou
mayest become eternal light and an immortal spirit.

    Baha’u'llah

Mine is “Oh c**p, we’re all gonna die!”

    Repeat 9 times.

    Then breath.

No, it’s more “Remover of Difficulties” than anything else, :)

@Toby: oddly enough, I can actually see how that first option could work ;)

Just fyi, you were highly recommended by Barney – that brit blogger with the odd latin title, during a blogging course he ran in Liverpool.

So how’s it feel to be famous? :D

    Ya Bahá’u'l-Abhá

    or

    O Son of Man!
Transgress not thy limit nor claim that which beseemeth thee not. Prostrate yourself before the countenance of the God, the Lord of might and power.

This reminds me of a Jewish friend who named her daughter Daniella. Apparently, Daniella can be translated as ‘God alone is my judge,’ and whenever this little girl feels scared or threatened, her mamma encourages her to silently repeat her name to herself over and over. As you said, like a mantra. Gorgeous, huh?

We taught that phrase to our children at children’s class when we taught them the Greatest Name, and one kid, we find out, said the Greatest Name at the dentist’s for protection :)

lol Prema I’ve come across quite a number of children who do the same and it is amazing how much calmer and less anxious they become when saying it quietly. :)

Faith is the bird that feels the light and sings when the dawn is still dark.
